WHO WE ARE

We are Sam & Miri. With our two wonderful daughters, we live in Berlin. Here, I (Sam) have – next to working for UPS – been one of the elders at Bibelgemeinde Berlin. In March 2022, we transitioned into serving Eckstein Gemeinde Berlin, to eventually lead and invest in the soul-care ministry. Next to all of that, I serve as one of the teachers at the EBTC.

THE PURPOSE

It is our desire to make disciples and to help disciple-makers make disciples. Specifically, we pursue this goal through equipping in the Local Church, but also beyond.

In order to continue to grow in this area and serve as an even more effective instrument in the Redeemer’s hands, we have transitioned our ministry to the U.S. from 2022-2025.

This is important in order to strengthen the local church in addition to a strengthened and “ disciple-making“ marriage. Multiplication in the church is dear to our hearts (2Tim 2:2). It is our desire to see the church perfectly represented in Christ (Col 1:28-29) in a position to encourage one another to love and good works (Heb 10:24) and to care for one another through counsel from the Word of God (Rom 15:14; Gal 6:1-2; 1Th 5:14), so that the body of our Lord may be built up in love (Eph 4:11-16).

The universal body is also at stake. The whole flock of our Good Shepherd needs encouragement and exhortation, equipment and edification to walk worthily in this fallen world (Rom 12:1-2; Eph 4:1; 5:1-2). Serving as a teacher at EBTC is a wonderful way to express my love to other local churches (2 Tim 2:2).

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

The church that we are transitioning our ministry to is Faith Church Lafayette, Indiana. Beginning in the 1970s, Faith has faithfully practiced, taught, and defended biblical counseling. It is their goal to win people to the Lord and to help people grow as faithful followers of Jesus. As a church, Faith approached us in the spring of 2021 with a suggestion to attend their three-year internship with an associated master’s degree program.

Faith is, among other things, the founding site of ACBC, an organization that seeks to equip chaplains for ministry in the local church – and whose materials we also use at EBTC.

We are excited about the privilege to serve here at Faith Church and can’t wait to apply many of the things we learn in Germany when we return in July 2025.
